Roll Call Checking in
Just wanted to check in with everyone. How are things coming along in your reloading world? Anything new? Anyone still doing much reloading in all this heat and enjoying the fruits of their labor? Any new tips or tricks that you care to pass on??
Lets here some of your all's update on reloading adventures......

Re: Roll Call Checking in
I finally got back into reloading after a 6+ month hiatus. No new presses or accessories.
I remember how much case prep sucks, especially doing a thousand+ cases.

Just been reloading .223's and .308's. Yes case prep is the worst part of reloading.

Re: Roll Call Checking in
Been tinkering around with the 22lr to jacketed 223 dies. Finally got the linkage right on the home built press and am making the dies to fit. Got 5 made that I think are good (safe) enough to send down range and loaded into cases last night. Hope to test them sometime this weekend. Will try to post pics as I can.

Re: Roll Call Checking in
I went to the gun range yesterday with my Ruger GP100 in .357 mag. I took exactly 6 cartridges. Here is the reloading stuff I took with me.
At the range I did not use the decapping die, case holder or funnel.
I loaded up a very mild load in the 6 cartridges.
Here is what the shooting station looked like.
The RCBS priming tool is in the bag at the left. I got the black case holder out of the garbage can at the gun range.
It is windy at American Shooting Centers. The trick to charging the case with powder is using the Lee dippers. Fill dipper from the powder canister, cover the dipper with empty brass case and then flip them over. Works great with .38 Special/.357 Magnum.
Here is another look at the shooting station a little further back.
I reloaded those 6 cartridges 12 times at the range. Took about 9 minutes to load the 6 and about 2 minutes to shoot them!
I used plated bullets so that I did not have to expand the mouth of the case and I did not need to crimp.
The loads ranged from 3.2 gr to 6.9 gr of HP-38. None of them seemed particularly accurate to me. I used 125 gr flat nose plated bullets from HSM.

Re: Roll Call Checking in
I loaded up some 450B this past weekend for testing...had good results.
Note to all:
Never get you finger between the case mouth and decapping pin while operating the press handle. I pressed a decapping pin into a knuckle and it does not feel good...

Re: Roll Call Checking in
Haven't done any reloading since back in the spring, between 2 jobs the family a BIG garden and a couple of pigs I've been a little busy. But, I plan on kicking back in when the weather cools back down.
On a side note, I have been carrying my Ruger Mark II pistol and Marlin HMR for rabbits in the garden, I forgot how much fun rimfires can be !!!

Casting boolits for my 9mm out of my 38spl mold. 150gr. RN from a lee mold for target rounds. Made a full magazine of glue stick boolits last night for my 9mm. Other then that, in my spare time i'm also prepping some cases and loading for my 9mm and .308 rifle.

Accumulating what I need to start casting (I believe I got what I need, just waiting for the weather to cool off a little). Been loading a few shotgun shells. It's all about the weather now, too hot to do much outside.

Re: Roll Call Checking in
I'm in and out of the forum like a ghost, never really having time to read everything, but trying to read a few here and there. been busy as all gitout with work, family and projects... anyone familiar with PDRacers? I'm on the member list now. Bought a 50-70govt and I'm waiting rather impatiently for it's arrival. ordered some Rosetta Stone kits in a couple languages that would be beneficial in the coming months... and Reread "The PaperJacket" for the second time.
oh, hey tommy... some of that lead you sent me turned out to be harder than lynotype according to the lee harndness tester... SuperStoked but not really sure what to do with SuperDuperHardball 310-12grain 452s LOL working up a load and I'm going to try to get out there for some wildboar but with the way my free time disappears on the horizon like a mirrage, who knows.
