Re: rate of twist question ?
out Spuds vid on determining twist rate of your rifles. This way you can check it and really be sure of it...

Hughie.....if it's not here you will have to check it manually.

You can use a cleaning rod with a brass brush and just start it into the barrel and put a piece of tape on it at the start of the barrel or put a mark on the cleaning rod with a black sharpie both works fine. Also put a mark on the back end of the rod where you can see it as it turns.
Then run the rod down into the barrel slowly letting the cleaning rod twist until it makes one complete turn, then put another mark on the cleaning rod at the barrel where it stops. Now pull it back out and take a tape measure and measure in between the first mark and the last one you put on the rod where it stopped at the barrel end.
That measurement is your twist rate........example 10" for one complete turn would be a 1:10 twist.
1 turn in 10 inches.
Hope that makes sense. It's easier to show someone than it is to explain it while typing, but it's really simple to do. I'm sure somebody else could explain it better.
I bet Dartfreak has done it? Ask him to help you with it.
**Nevermind** I see that Daywalker posted a video on it. That's even easier than explaining it.

Re: rate of twist question ?
1:11 is kinda odd? I don't think I've ever ran across that one before.
1:10...1:12....and 1:9 but never 1:11
Must have something to do with the age of the rifle?

Re: rate of twist question ?
metric?? Nerver thought of that good point it is a German spec rifle made in 1948 like new inside that barrel. I load 175gr ser and reduced load of varget. It will make a white tail do a cart wheel .
