Ruger LCR
I am getting pretty tired of concealing my 5" 1911 and was at the gun store the other day looking for something new. The gunsmith at the store told me he carries the Ruger LCR, so I decided to take a look. The trigger on this gun is AWESOME! I was just curious if anyone had one, or had shot one. Is it good? Does it recover from the recoil well? Does it group well? Any info would be appreciated.

It does have a great trigger. My local gun shop just got the .357mag model. If I had the funds I would already own it. It would be my new jogging gun.

Re: Ruger LCR
Yeah I know what you mean. It's double action only too which makes the recoil even worse.

Re: Ruger LCR
I can't tell ya much on the LCR however, if it shoots as good as the Ruger SR9C, then I say its a good weapon. I have the Ruger SR9c and so far no complaints.

Re: Ruger LCR
What about the "warranty?" They don't have a written warranty. Their website says they don't list one because of the rules and regulations, but that they will take care of you. I am just a little "gun shy", hehehe, about buying something that I have no proof of warranty on.
The one I was looking at is the .357 magnum. That is why the warranty thing is such a big deal, I just can't see the plastic frame standing up to repeated magnum shots.

Re: Ruger LCR
I honestly don't believe you have anything to worry about the frame. Ruger will take care of you tho. You can give them a call and they will verbally tell you anything you need to know.
We all pretty much have to realize that the day of steel frames, (not all) are going away and more of these polymers are here to stay. Glock pretty much paved the way with the polymer frames and they have all held up so far...

Re: Ruger LCR
The goal here is NOT to spend over $1,000 on a gun. So, the micro 1911 is out.

Re: Ruger LCR
I had to send my Mark 3 back to get a factory defect fixed. It took a month but Ruger fixed it and paid the shipping both ways. I think you're safe with the gun. Keep in mind Taurus has a plastic Judge out now for about the same price.

Re: Ruger LCR
I admit it, I am a glock hater. Sorry. And the limit is more like $500, not $1000. Come one guys, I'm in the military, I'm poor.

Re: Ruger LCR
I have been looking at the LCR's for a while now both the 357 and the 38. For me the 357 is not worth it. It has a steel frame not plastic overlayed like the 38 and the weight difference is enough you can feel it just handling them. I only know of one guy who has the 357 version and he said he rarely shoots the 357 in it. As far as ruger's warranty I wouldn't worry about it they will take care of you should you have problems. One side note the double action trigger on these guns is very good compared to alot of other ones I've tried.

Re: Ruger LCR
I've been pondering that for a while. If .357 is too much recoil, I would only shoot .38s most of the time, so why pay extra for the .357? On the other hand, why not go for the .357 when it is far superior in ballistics to the .38. Maybe I'm thinking too much about this.

Re: Ruger LCR
Have you thought about the Ruger LC9? It weighs 17oz's (one less oz then my G27) and would be really nice to carry.
