Re: Funnel for 22-250
This is the funnel set I have and really like it. I load a lot of 22-250 and never had a problem.

Re: Funnel for 22-250
I use the same one that Bones uses, and it is OK.
I also use it to load BP .45-120 using two long drop tubes hooked together.
Only thing I dislike about the Frankford Arsenal powder funnel other than being made in China is its weight.
For some of the smaller cartridges like .223 and .300 Whisper-R, the funnel will tip the cartridge over if your loading block is too shallow to hold the cartridge firmly from tipping.

Re: Funnel for 22-250
The aluminum powder funnels look pretty nice.
Rich, please let us know how they work. I'd also like to know how the S&H and customer service is.
My only complaint is that I would have to get a funnel for each caliber of round rather than one funnel with multiple interchangable tips.
While the Frankford Arsenal funnel is not perfect, it does work. You do have to be careful with it. I have knocked it over a few times due to operator error because I dumped a whole large charge of powder in it rather than gently pour the powder it.
When loading for the large heavy magnums, I have to gently trickle the powder into the funnel rather than dump the whole charge.
I also use an ancient Herter's plastic one-size-fits-some powder funnel that is great for the small capacity rifle rounds like .223, .22 K-Hornet, .32-20 WCF, and .300 Whisper-R.

I placed the order today, C/S was great, fast and friendly. S/H was $3.00 bucks.
My RCBS funnel takes care of the rest of what I load, the 22-250 is just a little small

Re: Funnel for 22-250
I look forward to your review of the funnel.
Is 22-250 the smallest capacity rifle you load?
For me the ones I have to be careful not to tip over is the .32-20 WCF, and the 22 K-Hornet. Both are tiny cartridges, not very thick brass and even my small Herters plastic powder funnel can knock the brass over.

Re: Funnel for 22-250
Hmmm....all this funnel talk is giving me an idea. I use the sheite out of my lee funnel...and it has it's draw backs at times. I think I can make some various sized nozzles out of some used rifle brass that will fit snug up in the funnel. I think expanding a case neck to 243 will come close to just fitting over a 223 neck, 308 for 243,etc... of course I'll only use the top portion of the case(half the wall, the shoulder and neck)
Just an idea I might have to try...
BTW, those aluminum, caliber specific funnels look very impressive.

Re: Funnel for 22-250
Hawcer, let us know how your experimentations go.
The aluminum funnels do look impressive. Might be the ticket for the large belted magnums.
Needs a longer drop tube for BP though. BP has a bad tendency to bridge in the funnel mouth and the top of the cartridge.
Long drop tube helps the BP settle better in the case without having to dump small portions, shake, rattle and roll the case then dump some more BP & repeat.
My wife calls it the BP olympics as she watches me try to get 110 gr of FFFg settled into a 50-110 or 120 FFFg settled in to a 45-120.

Re: Funnel for 22-250
Those funnels look sweet too bad I am a certified Cheap BSTD LOL I honestly have never had a problem just dropping straight from my uniflow into the case, If I am making a load that i want to be totally anal about and trickle my charge i have never had a problem using the RCBS powder funnel. I haven't loaded much 22-250 but have a lot of 223

Re: Funnel for 22-250
Until someone comes out with an attachment for electric powder dispensers that will dump powder directly into the case like a uniflow or other hand operated powder measure....we are stuck using funnels.
My lee funnel works great on most brass...the 223 is starting to slip up past the funnel stop sometimes....so I have to be careful. It sucks to use on anything smaller than a 40cal case...like 9mm or 380.

I use the same green RCBS one that I use for all my other rifle calibers.
