I haven't used any ...too expensive for what they are? BUT...probably worth it, if it was to get away from the mess of lubing.

I'd definitely use 44 and 357/9mm....might as well on 45acp too. I could prolly buy a quite few thousand gas checks for what a lubesizer and dies would cost,huh?....but , I would also need a good sizer to seat the checks....so, back to the drawing board,LOL

I think you would need more than a few thousand to equal lubrisizer and dies.

I don't think gas checks gets you away from lubing and sizing them. I could be wrong tho???

I believe they just protect the base for higher velocity. I am hoping to get to play with a 30 cal gas check making die. Thinking about getting a mould to load up for my Winchester Model 94

im experimenting with paper patching... soes to not needs the damn things, they're not getting cheaper... vs. a stack of tracing paper from wally world...
I use 30s, 32s, and 45s
have thought about buying checkmakers but havent gotten around to it as the paper patch thing seems ...excuse my mariner roots... more salty

did you buy or build your gas check maker? would you post up a picture of it???

I am interested in the ones online I have seen that use beer can for gas checks... but seems like brass roof flashing would be ideal.... and 15 ft roll is under twenty bucks at lowes near my house????

That is kinda my thoughts. If I can help some people out on some inexpensive gas checks ,then it is a win win combination.

Pat Marllins 308 gas checks maker, that's what I use to make mine.

More material on order, copper and aluminum.

I use them in 38, 44 and most rifle, 30 caliber being the most widely used. I have had an order in with Pat Marlins for quite a while now for a .338 check maker. The commercial 338 checks are hard to come by these days, hence my first check maker. Pats had some issues with computer interface and CNC. But I understand he has overcome that now and is catching up.
