I want to get "Extended looking" mags but really hold only ten round to keep legal for my California laws. I've seen people at the range with extended mags, and I ask them if they are LE, and they tell me that they only hold ten rounds but give the look of a 30 round mag. How can I find these?

You have to purchase a block that goes into the bottom of a 30 round mag. This will only allow you to load 10 rounds. I will search and see if I can find these plugs. The only problem is, I am not sure if you can have a 30 round mag shipped to you to convert. Let me see what I can dig up..

Would be sweet for you to get Pmags to place the block in the bottom of them

there a way around shipping high capacity mags in states that prohibit them, you simply ship them taken apar and the buyer agrees that the mag is only being shipped to be used as a "repair" on other magazines. When I bought my M&P Smith and Wesson 15-22 AR this guy gave me a website that has cheap prices on brand new Mags. When I got mine in the mail there where all in three pieces and when I put them together I quickly found out that they were the 25 rounders not the ten! Sadly, I took my mags in and had a block placed inside the three mags to keep no more than 10 rounds from entering. Sad, sad day!

yeah I figured you could block them, but I'm not sure if that is actually "legal" or not. I'll just call the DOJ make sure it is... They gave me all the specs on what and what not to do when building my AR-15.

There is a guy on youtube fjcaron I believe is his youtube name. He openly says he lives in California. He did a vid about his ar's and putting in the block. He stated it was legal. To be sure, especially in Calif, I would call and double check. Just makes you look more "responsible"

For reduced capacity high capacity magazines google 10-30 mags these are 30 round mags that have been pinned so that they can only accept 10 rounds, they are more expensive than high cap magazines but they are legal. 44magnum.com will sell high cap magazines broken down to ban states. If you cruze over to cal guns they should be able to help you with specifics of california law and how to pin high cap mags to make them legal. I hope this helps.
