Texas Hog
Here is a hog I got to take at friends ranch this weekend. We are not sure on the actual weight but she was soo heavy that the two of us almost could not lift her into the bed of our Polaris Ranger.

Re: Texas Hog
Very cool, congrats. Pig weights are very deceiving but from the looks of it I'd say 175-200#.

Thanks guys! It was a really good weekend and I got to see a couple deer and a ton of big turkey. We were in the Ranger heading down to go fish in a tank and had big sows run across the road behind us with about 8 piglets. I got off two shots at a piglet (about the size of a big cat) with my Glock but missed him. They are fast little critters.

Here are some more pics from the ranch. The first one is my friend's son with some fish he caught. The second pic is the rattler I cut off of a rattle snake we ran over that morning while going to our hunting spot.

Is that all you want to say? That you missed the piglets with your Glock? Is there anything else you want to add about that Glock? Hmmmm? lol

Re: Texas Hog
Ok I had two FTF's while trying to shoot the piglet. There is noooo way it could have been the Glock. It must have been that cheap cruddy Hornady TAP I was shooting in it.Daywalker wrote:RemMan700 wrote:Thanks guys! It was a really good weekend and I got to see a couple deer and a ton of big turkey. I am going to have to change my name cause I sold my 700 and bought a Savage. I only have one Remington gun now and it's an old model 51. Yeah the Savage worked great and my handload did as well. I did not get full penetration on the hog though. My load was 40gr of 8208XBR with a 150gr Sierra prohunter. I think the bullet stopped under the off-side shoulder blade. It ran from the feeder you see in the background to where it lay in the pic.
