How short is to short ?
I've been processing some 223 brass, Lyman and Lee reloading book says 1.760 for brass length, well I have some below that down to 1.750 will that make a difference? BTW I'll be loading for a AR plinking loads.

1.75" is the minimum trim to length so you are good.

I trim all my .223 down to 1.750. If it does not trim I throw it in another pile and measure it after I'm through trimming. I have a cutoff length of 1.745 anything below goes in the recycle bin I have.

I trim all mine to 1.75, anything shorter gets tossed in the recycling bin.
I get a lot of LC 5.56, most of it shot in a SAW, so most of it is WAY long because of sloppy head space in worn guns.
I rarely have the too short problem mostly too long.
My little Sako .223 AI makes them a bit shorter about 1.745 after they are fire formed. So I do not have to trim for several more shots and just let the brass strecth back to min length.
