2/1/14 Catch
Well I went fishing again. LOL
I caught one 24" Black drum, 14 Whiting, and two stingray. Once the fog rolled in the whiting really started biting. I caught a lot more but threw a bunch back because they were so small and not worth messing with. I have never ate stingray but everyone says it is good so I am going to give it a try. It was very different to filet as it has a cartilage layer that runs between the top and belly meat. Oh and if you thing catfish are slimy wait till you touch a stingray that has been on ice.

Yeah I think dip it in coconut milk and then in some curry batter.

Nice catch. I'll be interested to hear how the stingray tastes.
We are still ice fishing here. Our black crappie reservoir sucked this year which cut down my motivation to go every weekend. I did go a couple times in early January to a different reservoir and the first time we caught about 125, and the next weekend about 60 fish. Mostly bluegill and perch, a couple bass too. Hopefully going out again Sunday since I have a buddy in town visiting, but I'm not expecting good numbers this late in the season.
