A few from 2010
Here are just a few pics of some fish I caught this last year. I can never remember to take pictures so I only have a couple pics.
This first one is a Wiper. (White bass/Striped bass hybrid) Since Taylor wasn't catching any fish, (what else is new??? ) he took the picture.
This is a rainbow I caught while out with my wife.

Nice pics! I caught one of those hybrid wipers one time out of Truman Lake Reservoir during a bass tournament, it weighed 8+ pounds. When I hooked it I thought I had the tournament won or at the very least Big Bass which paid about $1,000 bucks that day.........then I saw the big silver flash in the water and I just wilted like a flower. Nice fish, but I was fairly upset because striped bass weren't allowed for the weigh in. I took it back to the weigh in to be officially weighed just for the hell of it and one of the guys in the tournament filleted it and took the meat home.
Those damn things fight like a freight train!
I really feel sorry for Taylor.
If he wants to come down here and spend a week with me I'll teach him how to fish. I won't even charge him my usual guide fee, this lesson would be on me.

I gave the Wiper away to a guy we run into a lot while fishing. Not sure his name, we just call him..... "The Russian"
I ate the rainbow.

Re: A few from 2010
we didn't get any pictures weekend before last of his 2 really nice black crappies he caught on the ice since it was so damn cold and we were trying to get out of there ASAP because the ice was freaking us out. LOL
I did get some pictures before I filleted (sp?) them, so I'll try and get those uploaded tonight.
Here is one of him freezing his butt off while we were catching perch.

Don't feel too sorry for him, he was able to snag a perch the other day.

Don't feel too bad for me. While Tyler might catch more fish then me, I catch bigger fish!
Now watch him post the picture of the tiny bluegill I caught to say I am lying, but he forgets that little bluegill is what caught him that nice Wiper!

Re: A few from 2010
Here was my catch on last day of last season. No luck like that this year
not for a lack of trying, Tyler and I been hitting the ice pretty hard this year. If he keeps dogging me though, he might have to go with his new friend.

Now....Now....Boys! Am I going to have to seperate you two?
We use those little blue gill about that size to catch monster flatheads.
Reload- I have never seen, caught, or heard of anyone catching any out of Wappapello. Doesn't mean they aren't there, but I doubt it. It's a fairly shallow lake and striped bass/wipers need deep cold water and open water in order to survive. That's why Truman lake is ideal for them, there's some super deep water and big open water on that Lake!
I've watched the schools of stripers come up an bust shad out in the open water before in the fall. It looks like a shark feeding frenzy out there when they do that. By the time you get over to them they go back down. We have checked the depth finder before and found out that they were schooling over 80ft. of water, in the wide open with not a stitch of cover around anywhere. They are a blast to catch when you get on them.
Norfolk lake has some nice ones, I have a couple of buddies who go down there on a regular basis and trap their own shad to use as bait.
Damn! Now you all got me dreaming about fishing and here it is sleeting it's azz off outside and I can't do anything about it! Arrrrggggghhhh!

Re: A few from 2010
some of my favorite fishing is when the whites/wipers/stripers are busting the schools of shad in the lake. I use a set of binocs and watch the water when i see that boil i open my big moter up and run right in the middle of it kill the motor and start casting a silver spoon. it will tear them up. that is the most fun fishing there is IMO other than gigging LOL after that feeding frenzy has started there is no telling what you will catch. Whites, wipers, stripers, kentuckys, large mouth, small mouth i have caught them all in that feeding frenzy.

Yep, that it is. I prefer a black/silver rattle trap.
I've had the hooks straightened out a couple of times, so we started changing out the factory hooks with eagle claw bronze colored hooks........heavy duty!
