maverick 88 12 gauge

any one got or shot a maverick 12 gauge i think im gonna get one im wanting a 12 gauge the only shotguns i got is a 410 single and a 20 single i want a 12 pump are the mavericks any good?

I had a Maverick 88...it came with a long hunting barrel and a 18" short barrel. It's alot like the Mossberg 500...but just not as nice in appearance.

It's a good shotgun to beat around with...the one I had, had the Mil-spec type Parkerized finish. The only thing I didn't like was the magazine capacity was less than that of a Mossberg...especially with the 18" barrel, I would liked to have had the few extra rounds.

I think I got $150 for it when I sold it....and the only reason I sold it was because my dad gave me his old Ithica 37
