Powder charging 380acp
Does anyone have problems dropping powder into their 380 cases? They are so short my Lee funnel doesn't work very well with the cases in a loading tray. I normally would use my pistol powder measure and drop the charge directly into the case, but I receintly traded for a RCBS chargemaster and used it to load up 100 cartridges....so I had to use the funnel. My die set is a carbide RCBS so it has no powder through die...so I used my Lee 9mm powder through expander die to drop my powder through.
Just curious what everyone else is using if not using a powder measure. Maybe I need a funnel set with different sized tips?

+1 RCBS Uniflo straight into the case. Then to the press. May be slow, but clean and accurate.Reload3006 wrote:I just use my rcbs powder measure and drop straight into the case. ?

I use this Frankford Arsenal funnel, it has 16 nozzle adapters for different calibers: http://www.midwayusa.com/viewproduct/?productnumber=554122 . I think it does a great job, and I don't drop powder in the tray like I used to with my RCBS "Universal" funnel.
For the calibers I reload the most I also use the Frankford Arsenal perfect reloading trays. http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/?productNumber=140304
I have always reloaded my pistol on progressive presses, but one night while helping Fletch reload 45 ACP we tried my RCBS Uniflow that I haven't used in 8 years. That worked pretty dang good, was a lot faster then using the Chargemaster due to the smaller charge.

Would you mind posting your 380acp recipe/s? I’d like you know what other people are using. I just got the bullet mold for it.

I'll have to take a look....I was using titegroup and decided to try out unique this last time. I don't shoot cast through the 380....so my charges might be higher than what you might use.

Re: Powder charging 380acp
Whenj I first started reloading for my 22 hornet. I ran into the problem of not having a funnel small enough. so I took a bigger funnel and started trimming the end down.Until I could actually stick the case mouth inside .
And get a tight seal. I also used my drill to widen out the hole. I found a drill bit that fit the inside diameter of the case.I hope this helps.Of course it is the funnel you want to
