MP Mold .401 Hex HP's cast range test 10mm Glock
Ok..........First of all...........DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME!!!!!!
I tested some 155gr. MP Mold Hex head hollow points this evening and to say the least I AM Impressed with the accuracy!
I only fired 6 quick shots from 12 steps (36 feet approximately) from my target and wasn't really even testing that much for accuracy, but more interested in the barrel leading.
I know it's only 6 shots and that may not be enough to test for leading, but at any rate I didn't find any that I know of. My eyes aren't as good as they used to be so I ran a brass brush through the barrel to see if I could pick up any slivers of lead, it came out clean. I inspected the barrel several more times with a flashlight and holding it up to the light and could see nothing but a clean bore.
I'd rather not give out my load data at the moment because I don't want anybody trying this themselves and having adverse effects from my only testing 6 rounds in a hurry right before dark. In other words the jury is still out and more testing is needed.
The accuracy is what impressed me the most and I've posted a pic of the target so you can see for yourself. I'm really curious as to what these bullets could do if I really took my time working up a load and was shooting for an accurate group. Needless to say it shows some real potential and the initial results are more than I had expected them to be.
The hole at the bottom of the paper was clearly my fault, like I said before I wasn't shooting for accuracy but just trying to keep them on the paper so I could dirty the barrel a bit then check for leading. I knew the shot was going to be low when I pulled the trigger.
To be continued.................................................

Thanks fellas.
Xbones- Not a chance.
The only reason I ever considered selling this pistol was to buy a 1911, but now that I'm working again I'll be able to save up for one. Then I'll have to order another MP .452 mold so I can cast for it also.

Maybe I'm an idiot, but I cannot find the vid that 30-06 is talking about?
Could someone toss me a bone and tell me where it is so I can see this interesting mold please?

Thanks those look some nice cast boolits. I do not have a 10mm anymore (damnit) but those look like nice boolits.
While I do not own one, I have been told and from what I have seen on the Cast Boolits forum and other places, the MP molds are pretty nice.
I like the removable pins so that you can make hollow point or solid bullets.

Hey Mo....I thought you already had some .452" hex as well as the standard hp and solid molds? I could have sworn you cast up some in the past that looked fabulous, am I wrong?
