I know a guy that has a Remington 700 CDL (matte blued finish/wood stock) in .30-06 with a bushnell 3200 scope on it who is looking to trade gun plus 70rnds of ammo. I am thinking about 50maybe seeing if he wants to trade for my AR carbine. He said he values his gun/scope at around $750. So what do yall think, even trade? Am I dumb for thinking about it?

Seems like a fair trade....Ask yourself this...

What will I use more often, the rifle or the carbine?

I was going to trade my Savage 12 223 for a Bushmaster DCM straight up and someone on here told me I was nuts....So I still have the Savage and it is now my favorite rifle.
But I also have a AR 223 to keep me happy....to close to call imo.

What AR do you have?

Yeah I dont really need it seeing I just got my Savage in .308, but I do have another AR that is a heavier varmint type setup. Why cant I just be rich so I can have one of every gun and not have to worry about these types of decisions. Very Happy

LOL An object is worth what you can get for it. Or what you are willing to pay for it. I reckon if the truth were to be told if we have a shotgun a 22 and a high power of some sort there really is no justification for it. It all boils down to Toys we want to play with. So I reckon the question is Which one would you rather play with?

Well...your 308 will do anything that 30-06 will do...and be more accurate while it's at it.

Just keep the carbine....they are more fun at limited ranges. Wink

Add a little spice to the carbine with a different caliber barrel....6mm,6.5mm 6.8spc,etc... PRESTO, a new toy!

Yeah maybe I will just get a new scope for the carbine and put a hog light on it. I also thought about selling the AR and getting a Marlin 1894 in .44mag.
