.22LR Conversion
I am thinking about getting a .22LR conversion kit for my 1911 so the wife can practice shooting fundamentals and not have to deal with the .45 recoil. Anyone know of a particular brand that is good? I think there are only 2 or 3 big ones out there.

I've always liked the advantage arms 1911 conversions. Not the cheapest ,but not the most expensive either. The target model is the best...but all of their models are nice.

Re: .22LR Conversion
Like Dart said I too like the Kimber .22 LR and use it on my Series 80 Colt with no issues as long as I use CCI Mini Mags, Winchester Super X, or Eley Match.
My particular Kimber .22 LR conversion is ammo picky and hates the cheap Remington and Federal stuff.
I have not tried any of the Wolf .22 LR in it yet but might as soon as I get a chance.

Why not just buy her a nice .22 on the same style frame. I am sure it wouldn't be that much more. My daughter looked at a new Colt (I think) that the dealer said was actually made by Walther. It was a 1911 frame and was around $360.00. It also gives you the ability to take two guns to the range and not have to strip them down to change calibers. More shooting fun in less time.
