i like H110 in 44mag
Blue dot in heavy field 12ga Magnum 12 and Mag 10ga
red dot for light shotgun and lead pistol

did you know that Hodgdon now owns IMR...... i like 4227 for 44 but really prefer H110 if flows through the powder measure lots better and i believe gives you lots better consistency

Re: what is your go to powder?
LOL i have a pound of unique. its good stuff. now that I'm swaging and loading lead i have 24 lbs of imrsr4756 to use up so i am going to be using that. My dad before he passed away always bought powder in bulk. we used to use alcan 7 for heavy field loads in 12ga well when smith and wesson dumped alcan we were left out in the cold. we found a so so load with imrsr4756 and my dad went out and bought 2 12lb cans of the stuff. LOL Blue Dot proved to be a much better powder for our purposes.

Re: what is your go to powder?
I use a lot of 4895 for 30-06, 375 JDJ, and 378 GNR.
I use more Bullseye than any other powder. Its dirt cheap, very economical and loads just about any pistol caliber. I shoot mostly single-shots, so I am not worried about cycling the action.
I also load a lot of Accurate 1680 for .445 Super Mag, .356x44, and .357 Rem Max.
H110 and 4227 are both favorites. I had some Russian-made 4227 clone that was a little slower, but did OK for plinking in .44 and .357.
Varget gets stuffed into 22-250, 22-243 AI, 35-303 Brit, 30 Bower Alaskan, and others.
H322 gets the nod for single shot pistol T/C 223.
H325 and TAC appear about the same at least to my AR15, so I use both depending on which I can get cheaper at the moment.
Trail Boss gets the nod for plinking .44, .45 Colt and .357 as well as 45-70, and 444 Marlin with plain-base cast boolits.
Retumbo gets the nod for .338 Win Mag, 7mm STW, and .300 Rem Ultra Mag.
I do not have my log books in front of me because I am sure there are others I am missing.

Re: what is your go to powder?
Hodgdon makes and distributes IMR and Winchester powders, they are all made in Australia.
My favorite powder of choice is of course........you guessed it......Varget.
I also like H380 for some small caliber loads, and have also had good luck with IMR4895.
Didn't care much for H4350......Varget was always more stable and consistent in my experience.
A buddy of mine has had great success with 4831sc and has used it for everything from 22-250-.243-.270-300mag and says it's accurate, but I have yet to try it.
I've got some RL15 I just got my hands on and need to try it out.
I hope to try the new 8208XBR soon.
I use Blue Dot for 10mm pistol and 12ga.
Also Power Pistol for 10mm and I can't tell much difference between it and Blue Dot for my 10mm rounds..........but Alliant doesn't recommend Power Pistol for shotgun loads.......I know cause I asked. They said it was real dirty in shotguns, something about the burn rate? Maybe too slow? Can't remember.

Only using Vihtavuori powders, and have been the last 5-6 years. The 3 powders that are used most is: N-130, N-140 and N-160 (Calibers random order:308 win, 6,5x55 and 300 win mag)
Norma before that.

Re: what is your go to powder?
My '06 likes 4895 and the H335 works well in the 223. I loaded some 270's for a friend using 4350 and that worked out real well.

Re: what is your go to powder?
I have not used any of the Vihtavuori powders although I would like to.
I just picked up some R-19 at the suggestion of my gunsmith for my 6.5x284 & I am looking forward to trying this new powder for me.

Re: what is your go to powder?
Sako are nice actions. I recently passed on a .308 Scout Rifle built on a Sako action because it was a little too pricey.
Not sure why a Sako action costs so much more than a Rem 700 or a commercial Mauser 98, but they do for some reason.
I just loaded up the last of the H110 & H2400 in the house so I need to run to the store. Got a bunch more of .44 & .357 to load today.
One thing I like about the .44 is the broad powder selection that you can use. I have never loaded Blue Dot or Red Dot in it yet, but I have some of those powders to try since I bought a whole bunch (500+) of 200 gr Nosler JHP (a weight I usually would not purchase) in a Gunbroker lot, that a guy sold to me.
It was a good deal, & I figure to use the 200 gr Noslers as practice & plinking ammo. Not sure I would shoot many critters with them, but sure would like to try them on something like a nutria or a scruffy 'yote.
My loading book says I can push these 200 gr Noslers JHP pretty fast over a stiff charge of H110 or H2400 so we will see.
I wonder what kind of speed I get out of a 14" T/C Contender barrel? Since I see the test barrel was a 6".
I am out of A1680 too I see, which is another fav powder for .357 Rem Max with 180 gr truncated cone either g/c cast boolit or FMJ Sierra. Great for bustin' the rams.

He he.
No, I actually have 1 Tikka T3 Super Varmint in .300 win mag, 1 BRNO CZ lux in .22 LR, 1 Diamond Hunter Flexi (sabatti) in .308 Win and 2 different types of S/S Star Baical shotguns.
Though Tikka was bought up by Sako couple of years ago, they are still as independent as they were before.
