NOE molds
I decided to get into casting for my 30 caliber rifles. I had an old lyman 31141 mold single cavity but that's kind of slow production for my taste. So I figured I'd look at evilbay and see what was there. Well it didn't take long to see that there is no way your going to buy anything on evilbay unless your stupid or barking mad. So I thought If used molds are going for more than new molds may as well buy an RCBS 30-180-FN Every place around is sold out of them. So I thought well I'd check out MP molds I own several of them and am Very impressed with them But none close to what I was looking for so I thought I would check out NOE molds. Man am I glad I did. I bought a NOE 311041 5 cavity aluminum mold. It came in the mail yesterday The quality is far beyond what I expected. I can hardly wait to cast some bullets with it. I was so impressed with it that I talked with Mr. Nelson about a group buy of a copy of RCBS 30-180-FN only with Captive hollow pointing pins. he was very receptive to the Idea and asked if I could send him some samples of the bullet so he could see if there was enough bullet Ogive and meplat for hollow pointing. I don't have this mold so I orderd one from midway of course its back-ordered do any of you have that mold? could you send me a few samples? if not eventually The one I ordered from Midway will get to me and I'll cast some and send them to him. Its nice to now have 2 custom mold builders who make great molds at what I consider to be very reasonable prices. any way if any of you guys want to check into this group buy I am trying to get started the discussion is in castboolits site.

Re: NOE molds
Very nice looking mold. Never heard of them before, but looks like they are about 40 minutes down the road from me.
Looking at their .452 I don't see a 200gr SWC, bummer!

Re: NOE molds
I took ten out and just hopped a can around with the thudy thudy. I couldn't stand not shooting some of them. As I said I didn't put them on paper so I don't have an accuracy statement but setting them in a 30-30 case crimped heavily in the crimp groove sized with a .311 size die. No I didnt mike them. nor did I weigh them Reckon I should. Gas checked and lubed with jakes purple cresin they sat atop 16.5 gr of 2400 nice mild report low recoil and surprisingly accurate in terms of can hopping. Checked the bore and zero leading. So far I am an ecstatic camper.
