Look'n for a 'dainty' side-arm
A few months ago A bad-guy came in the backdoor of my daughters home (around 7am) He got between my grand kid's and her ...
The "Mother' in her kicked in , and she beat his a$$ (knuckles to nose) all the way to the front door (leaving a trail of blood) ,
causing him to do a 'superman dive' into an open window of a waiting Toyota ...
I'M SO PROUD OF MY DAUGHTER
I had gone window shopping with her in mind , to find her a small pistol , but ended up get'n a 45colt leaver-gun for myself ...
Now she has a Beretta 92 that she keeps on top of the icebox , I want her to get something small enough to keep in her hind-pocket ...
(something that can be carried without a holster)
Because a gun not on you is just a dust catcher ... She got to handle a "Double-Tap" at the gun shop ,but she didn't like the feel in her hand ...
Bottom line is I think she needs a shrunken 1911 that can fit in her pocket , in a 40 cal.
Any suggestions ?

+10 for your daughter George! Glad she can take care of herself and her children.
I've have had limited exposure to the LC9 and was surprised at how accurate and light it was. I haven't had any dealings with anything that small in a 40 but take a look at this one and see if it may fit the bill.

I'd like to see a 20ga pump shotgun next to her.

Ruger LCP in 380acp. Small enough to fit in a petite woman's pants pocket and almost be invisible. Or if you can find an old Colt or Berretta 25. If you want something A tad bit bigger a 5 shot S&W Chief's special.

My wife has the LCP in 9mm with laser. She handles it just fine
