Post by Reload3006 Wed Feb 09, 2011 11:01 am

I use WC820 and am about to run out there was a guy in St. Louis that sold it but I have lost contact.
I have found this guy that sells surplus
http://www.gibrass.com/
but he doesn't have any WC820
I Know there are other sources out there. If you use mil surplus and dont mind sharing your source pleas give a link
Thanks
Dan

I checked all the places that I know of that sell surplus military powder. None of them list wc820.

too bad...looks like it would have been a good powder for my magnums.

hopefully a source can be found for it. It is very close to H110 almost a direct equivalent.
I am going to try out the WC846 its supposed to be the military equivalent for BL-C2
and WC844 is the same thing as H335 great powders for a fraction of the cost. almost half.

I emailed a supplier for the WC820 he said that he has 12 jugs of it .. about 8lbs per jug he is asking $100. a jug that is about a $60 dollar savings over H110. I live in the St. Louis area if you want to put in a order we could split the Haz mat and shipping?

Wow $60 saveings thats a good bit Ill check around this part of the country see what i can find out . Never used those powders but at that much saveings worth checking into. I have used BL-C2 for my .308 I like it. But its kinda hard for me to get that I got to drive at least 40 -50 miles here .local stuff is getting very high in price.

well here is the real break down now.
I contacted a supplier who says they still have WC820 that is a direct equivalent for H110 he is asking 100 dollars for 8 pounds Grafs has 8 pounds Hodgdon H110 for 137.79 so before hazmat and shipping it is a 37.79 savings.

for WC844 which is a military equivalent of H335 is 85.00 for 8 pounds Grafs is 140.99 for Hodgdon H335 Savings of 55.99

WC846 Is the military equivalent of Hodgdon BL-C2 it is going for 94.00 for 8 pounds Grafs is selling BL-C2 for 140.99 savings of 46.99

Those numbers are with out Hazmat fees or shipping. I live close to Grafs so I dont have to pay Hazmat or shipping I also live close to the supplier of the WC844 and WC846

However I dont live close to the supplier of the WC820 so For me unless he comes down in price or there is a bunch of folks to go to gather and split the shipping and hazmat fee the WC820... its cheaper to just buy the H110

Pat McDonald has sold a lot of it, but doesn't have any listed right now. Just the same it might be worth a call to him. He is listing some WC297 @ 89.99/8lb. May be time to switch pastures if the grass dries up in yours. Pat's Reloading, 330-833-4360

I have bought from gibrass, Jeff Bartlett and was real pleased in his service. I don't remember the exact details but I know if you buy 6 jugs he helps with the hazmat fee. I also called pats reloading about the same powder and the price was within $1.00 of gibrass with the shipping charge estimate Pats quoted. The only bad thing is Pats couldn't give me an exact shipping cost where gibrass did, so I ordered from them instead. The next time I am looking to buy pulldown powder I will buy from gibrass again.
