First gun? Empty First gun?

Post by RemMan700 Thu Nov 04, 2010 3:08 pm

I figured what everyone's first gun was and if they still have it. My first gun was a NEF Pardner single shot 20ga w/full choke. I still have it.

For me, it is an old FIE 410 bore shotgun. 3" full choke. Still have it. As a matter of fact, over the winter, it is going to be my boy's first project. Clean it up, strip it to bare wood, new stain and tung oil....

Rem, I have a NEF Pardner full choke 20 gauge as well!! Not my first gun, got it out of the trading post 50 bucks. Nice shooter...

My first gun was a Marlin 60 semi-auto 22. I ended up selling it to buy a professional skate board...one of the stupidest things I have ever done.

Winchester 1300 Defender, bought it at a gun show the month I turned 18. Still have it to this day, but she doesn't see as much shooting as she used to.

Sorry to hear about the theif. I have been looking into a huge safe from patriot. Almost bought it. This was at the time the I was going to get the barrett m99 and then decided to build a grendel instead and before I knew it, I went over budget and missed out on the safe. Not this time tho!!!

My sks was stored at a friends house once. This is the sks that was my second firearm that my father bought me when I was in elementary school. His trailer got broken in and his shotgun and 300 wetherby was stolen. Never did touch my sks tho. Thank goodness.

i have a gun safe as well, but i do have some verious firearms around the house. but they are always hidden..

even if someone did break in, and do a search, they wouldn't find them.
but i can always get to them in a hurry if ever needed.

A used Winchester Model 1400 12 ga. still have it today, bought it at the local gun store. I walked about 5 miles round trip to buy it Smile man if that thing could talk. And don't even ask how many tree rats it's killed just while I've had it.

My first rifle was a 22lr lever action that my father brought for me not long after I came into this world. This is not the first rifle I shot out of that was dad's single shot 22lr. you see my father was raised in a time in australia where you shot and traped rabbits to sell to the chillers for a little extra cash. ( as he said to AUSSIE the other day you got a jam sandwich for school lunch and if there was no bread you whent hungery ) Now dad was taught with a single shot and if you missed on the first shot you caught them by hand, after they were stuned by the shot over there head so I gess dad just taught me the way he was taught. when you have bugger all money every shot counts so you learn to hit what you aim at

Ruger MK II

Living in a busy city, I was reluctant to purchase a long gun as it is more conspicuous. My friend offered me a remington .22lr rifle. I was fascinated with his ruger pistol and talked him into selling that to me instead. He said "but you can't hit things easily with pistols." He came around after I dropped a few chipmunks out of the trees. It took a lot of practice but that's what is so great about .22 ammo!!!

After bricks and bricks of ammo, the gun shoots so well. No matter how much of a power hog I am, no matter how much I love "the dictator," the Mark 2 always gets the most use handgun

Hate to hear that you all don't know where it went from there. That would been an awsome heirloom to keep passing down. I am getting ready to pass down my .410 bore to my son. We are going to restore it together this winter. Probably over christmas break.. Then come Christmas day, it will be his..

That's really awesome of you, Tommy. I wish my family had encouraged me to enjoy firearms. I was never allowed to even have a bb gun. I never got into trouble so it's not like I was a "risk." As an "adult" I have tried to make up for lost time.

I will definitely make sure my future kids don't miss out on the shooting the way I did.!

My first gun was a 1939 type 99 jap arisaka in 7.7jap made at Nagoya armory....

Given to me by my great uncle who brought it back from south pacific in WWII while in the marine corp....

Shot my first deer with it when I was 8yr old in 1980.... dang it hurt....

My uncle and my grandfather and my dad took me on my first hunting trip and my uncle told me..."you shoot a deer with that rifle and it is yours"....

I shot the first deer I saw... it was about a 90 lbs doe..... but who cares I got to keep that massive rifle.... and we ate the doe anyway....

still got it today..... and still shoot it.... and it still hurts......hehehe
