Price of Lead Empty Price of Lead

Post by Daywalker Fri May 06, 2011 7:34 am

For those looking at buying or selling lead. I installed over into the left of the forum, a 24 hour price of lead doodad.... Right now, price of lead is at 1.0308/lb and looks to be down today where it was up yesterday. Hopefully this will help anyone who might be wondering what the cost of lead is worth today. You can judge by that what you want to spend or sell your lead for fair market value according to kitco.com....

And remember guys...that's pricing for pure lead, NOT mixed up recycled stuff that's only worth about 75%.

No problem. I'm not saying everyone goes by this chart. You can tell someone they are asking too much for their lead. Also remember, when you are buying ingots like off ebay, it is one thing for per pound of lead, the person, if using wheel weights, does have personal time involved and whatever gas system used to smelt these down and get rid of the clips and dross. Propain isn't cheap either....

But it does give a base... the rest is up to you how much the lead is worth..

good point Tommy. Also that is not a price that an individual can buy it for it is a price that a recycler is supposed to pay you for it. but probably won't more than likely they will pay you around 90c a pound and sell if for around 1.15 a pound. FYI
