1st deer of the year Empty 1st deer of the year

its been a hard season to say the least been hunting since the 1st of october and untill yesterday have seen one deer all year i got in the stand yesterday at 630 am and sit till almost 11 and didnt see anything i got up and walked to the car and almost went home but i told my self not to give up so i walked to the top of the ridge and just walked out the top i jumped up several but couldnt get a shot finally i jumped up one and it started running a whisled as lound as i could and it stoped long enough to get my scope on it and started running again i got him in the scope and touched the 7mm mag off it wasnt in ideal shot but i got him lol i thought it was a doe but it was a little button buck il post some pics later

If waiting for the deer doesn't work....it doesn't hurt to try hunting them. Razz Excellent job downing a deer on the run Smile

Congrats!! I put a doe in the deep freeze used one of my own 30fp bullets worked great. Smoke pole season opens here Dec 17. maybe I'll get another with a muzzle loader. GRATS again ^5

thanks guys im gonna take a break for a week or two and get back out there late bow opens dec 5th im gonna get back out there and hope to get one with a bow the ol mathews needs to fly lol

Good one! At least it's cold enough now so you can let it hang for a little while. A guy I know got one early in the season and it went bad due to the abnormal heat wave before he could get it processed.
