Re: first deer of the year
Nice Job Bill, any kill with a bow is a trophy in my book!
Sometimes it just feels really good to get some meat on the ground, and I've usually got mine already in the freezer by the time rifle season rolls around. Well, not this year........I've had a crappy season as far as deer sightings go. So with that said, I'd put a spike down with my bow in a heartbeat right at the moment.
Why don't you have some burger made, or sausage?
I just skinned, quartered, and deboned my 8pt. this morning and took all the meat over to the processor to have 20lb. of deer sausage made and the rest ground into burger. Of course, it would have probably been tough anyway so the burger and sausage was the way to go with him.
We ate the sweet loin for supper tonight and MAN.......talk about Good! mmmmmmm....... I'm full as a tick right now
