Heritage Arms Rough Rider

Howdy folks. I am going to try and do a review of my Heritage Arms Rough Rider in .357 magnum soon. Never really did much a review of anything so I am trying to come up with what to say and show.

I will say this. I have put 50 rounds of .357 mag through it as well as 18 rounds of .38 special. So far I really like this revolver. I passed up on the 45 colt due to the cost of factory rounds compared to .357. At this time, I don't have dies or anything to load for .45LC, but will be getting one in the future. Right now, I am looking at purchasing another Heritage Arms Rough Rider, only this time, it will be 22lr/22mag for my boy. Under 200.00 and I believe he will be happy with it.

At first I was a little iffy on getting it. It was very tight and required pliars to get the pin out to remove the cylinder. Well, after a few cleaning and oiling as well as shooting, everything seems to be settling in place and no tools to remove anything. I am sure other manufactures from the get go doesn't require tools to remove anything, however, using tools one time and now not having to isn't all that bad to me.

But I will leave all the details to a review that I will post in the review section soon. To get back into the video route, I may even do a video review as well for youtube.

After firing a couple hundred more rounds through it, it would be interesting to know how tight everything is and whether any screws have started backing out.

I take it this is a single action? Does the base pin stay in place or does it back out like on many Rugers?

Adjustable Sights?
Trigger pull?
Grip fit and quality?
Play in the cylinder both hammer locked back and in rest?

That's all I can think of. Hope this helps.

Does it have a transfer bar safety?
Does it spit lead in your face?

I have one of those in .22lr and .22mag with 6 and a half inch barrel. Its really fun to shoot and really accurate. Your boy should really have fun with it. I ran a thousand or more rounds through it so far and never had a problem with it.

I want one Do they make them in 44mag ? the .357 would be just fine

I have looked it to getting one for myself but for the price i was a little iffey on them looking foward to see how it does !!

You go to their website for available calibers. As fo my .357, I can tell you, I love it. I have no regrets in getting it. I am still going to get the .22 for my boy. I am thinking next year getting another in the 45 colt caliber. I do miss my SBH. This does fill th void, however, I am determined to get another SBH. Guess a person just can not have too many revolvers....

I was wanting the 45colt. 2 issues I had. First, patience. They had the .357 and I did not really want to wait 2 days. Second, really not set up to reload either caliber at the moment. Reminds me, I never got my dies from midway!!!! Ok, back on track. Wanting to shoot until I could handload, the 45 colt factory cost a bit more than the .357 lol....

I am not finished collecting calibers... I want them all!!!!!! Can not wait till I have enough funds for a S&W 500.... Come on work, promote me already heheheheh.....
