I found a Marlin 336 SC (1952 version) with a Pentax Pioneer scope on it (guy says older model Pioneer Pentax) for $500. Do you guys think this rifle is worth a even trade for a Walther P22 pistol and my Ruger 10/22 Stainless Sportster? I do know the quality of Marlins has gone way down since Remington bought them and this 336 SC is a little more rare to find.

$300 for Walter and $200 for 10/22 = $500....sounds about right to me.

What's the going price for the 336?

I would say the 336 SC's I have seen are going for 400-450 where your regular 336 goes for 300.

I understand you want to go for rarity and hard to find. Equals possible price increase down the road.

If it were me, and I could sell the handguns for 500.00, look for a good Winchester model 94. Of course the pre 64 model.

I can not say anything towards a Marlin 336 as I never owned nor shot one.... I do love my 94 tho...

If I wasn't too attached to the handguns I'd probably go for the 336. I've had one for years and love it. Granted, it is somewhat slower than the "big boys", so far, everything that got lined up in the crosshairs has fell with the exception of one, and that was my fault. I would be very hard pressed in order to give it up..
