also known as 7.62 nagant has anyone every tried to load these? lee makes a die set for them but brass is rare just wondering what yall use or recommend i saw where people say they use 32-20 brass but its too short for the gas seal that the 1895 nagant requires i dont trust that also is there any other ammo you can shoot in the 1895 nagants i saw on you tube people shooting 32 s&w longs is this safe??

most people buy a 32 caliber cylinder for them to shoot 32's because 7.62x38r ammo is way to $$$$$$$$$$$$$

Re: loading for 7.62x38R
there's a few reloading for it on other forums, I haven't read up on the nagant pistol in a few years but I remember there being a few that had it down pat. some definite tricks to that cartridge to read up on.
I wouldnt shoot anything cept the nagant ammo in the nagant cylinder, should be simple to cast boolits for, the seating and brass is the key. try the castboolits forum and do a search

Re: loading for 7.62x38R
I have 2 of them I load for. 7.62x38r brass can be reloaded using a combination of 30 carbine dies and the Lee 7.62x38r dies. I have done it, and it does work. Case life is short due to all the working of the brass. It's far easier to use .32-20 brass. There is a you tuber who calls himself "the nagant man". He explains loading for the Nagant revolver better than I can. I use his method and it works very well.
