Re-Lining A Ruger Single Six .22 barrel
first i made my own reciever wrench from aluminum tubing i had laying around then i made a .22 liner from a Ruger .22 barrel i had taken off my girlfriends 10/22. i turned the 10/22 down to 5/16th" as that is the diameter of the .22 liners that are sold. i drilled out the barrel to 5/16th" starting with a drill bit that fit the bore tight. JB welded the liner in the barrel. after curing i cut off all the excess and used a regular reloading de-burring tool at the muzzel and a 4 degree K&M case mouth taper reamer to for the forcing cone area. pistol shoots pretty good now. going to the range in a bit and try to post a pic of the target. HTH

Also...if you are ever needing a thinner adhesive than epoxy for that type of job... Loctite makes a bearing/sleeve adhesive that will hold like there is no tomorrow. Once it's in there...it's permanent!

yes you can use this method. but with a rifle barrel you will need the correct chamber reamer to chamber the barrel to 17 mach 2. with a revolver the chambering is done in the cylinder.HTH

First let me say Awesome job Rick, very nicely done...
I was going to put a 17 M2 liner in an old papoose barrel giving me the option of 22lr or 17 M2.... but the papoose is basically a glenfield model 60 and cannot handle the 17 M2 pressures....
I really would like to know about the loctite bearing adhesive you spoke of earlier..

yes she does. this is the rifle that i re-did for her birthday some years back. that i took the barrel off to make the liner. the only reason i did the re-line was because Ruger will not sell you a barrel unless they install it. HTH

yes it's the richards micro fit apache stock. she brought it out to the range yesterday. it's still a tack driver. we tried out the wolf match .22 ammo and that stuff is pretty accurate.i'm gonna be doing a re-finish job on the single six using duracote. i'll post before and after pic's when done.
