After cleaning and inspecting my once fired brass from my carbine , I'v found that one piece of brass got chipped ...
I haven't maxed out the charge yet (start-load 12gn... Max load is 13.5gn) I loaded at 13.0gn ...
Should I speed-up or slow-down this 460rowland ?

Chipped where? around the case mouth or the rim? Could be just a bad piece of brass.

Pics would help too...

click the little icon that looks like a picture with a floppy disk that is above the message box. a window will pop up....click the "choose button" ...an explorer window will pop-up...goto where ever it was you saved the picture to and select it. Then click the host it button. Once it uploads copy the link under the "image url"title . Then click on the picture icon that is above the message box and paste the link you copied into the box and click ok.....it should now be linked in the message box.

I have never loaded rowland but I have had brass do that usually it was kinked or folded in or kinked by seating the bullet etc then i fixed it by straightening it out but when fired it blew off that chunk. So now when I have a piece of brass that has kinked i just toss it rather than try to save it.

Yea , I toss crinkled-brass also ... But this was new brass strait from "Starline"... It does it about every 40 or 50 shots ... this is the first cleaning to prep for the 2nd loading ...

So you get the chip every 40-50 shots...or this happened once in the last 40-50 shots?

Either way...I'd almost guess it was a failure to eject completely and got slammed into some part of the gun when the bolt closed. Almost like a stove pipe but it's not getting trapped between the bolt and chamber...does that upper have any sharp type edges around the ejection port that is the same diameter as the chip in the brass?...maybe even getting nipped by the ejector.

Keep an eye out to see if it continues to happen...might have just been a defective case.
